Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Boog ("Boog," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Boog mobile application for iOS (the "App"). We've tried to write it in plain language. If anything is unclear, email us at gfang1212@gmail.com.
The short version: Your dance videos and audio recordings stay on your device. We never upload them. We collect limited, mostly anonymous diagnostic and usage data to keep the App stable and improve it, and we only receive your contact details if you choose to send us feedback.
1. Your videos and recordings
When you record with Boog, the video and audio are captured using your device's camera and microphone and are stored locally on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or store your recordings on our servers, and we cannot access them.
Your recordings leave your device only when you choose to act on them — for example, when you export a clip to your iOS Photos library or share it through another app. At that point the content is handled by Apple and the destination you choose, under their respective terms.
2. Information we collect
a) Diagnostics, crash, and performance data
We use Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring) to understand how the App is used and to detect and fix problems. This may include:
- App usage events and interactions (for example, which features are opened), without the content of your videos;
- Crash reports and diagnostic logs when the App encounters an error;
- Performance metrics such as load and response times;
- Device and technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, language/region, and mobile network/general region, along with app-instance identifiers used by these services.

b) Feedback you send us
If you contact us through Settings → Send Feedback in the App, we collect the message you write and the name and email address you provide so we can read and respond. This feedback is delivered to us using Formspree, which processes the submission on our behalf. If you email us directly, we receive whatever you include in that email.
3. How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the App;
- To diagnose crashes and technical issues and improve reliability and performance;
- To understand which features are useful so we can make the App better;
- To respond to your feedback, questions, and support requests.
4. What we do not do
- We do not upload, sell, or share your dance videos or audio recordings.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your information for third-party advertising.
5. Device permissions
The App asks for the following permissions only to provide its features:
- Camera — to record your dance videos.
- Microphone — to record audio together with your videos.
- Photos (add) — to export and save your videos to your Photo library.
You can review or change these at any time in the iOS Settings app under Boog. Denying a permission may limit related features.
6. Data sharing
We share information only with the service providers described above (Google Firebase and Formspree), who process it on our behalf to provide their services. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not otherwise sell or rent your personal information.
7. Data retention
Your recordings remain on your device until you delete them. Diagnostic and usage data is retained by our service providers in accordance with their policies and standard retention periods. Feedback messages are retained for as long as needed to address your request and keep reasonable records.
8. Children's privacy
Boog is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email us at gfang1212@gmail.com. You can delete locally stored recordings at any time from within the App, and you can remove the App to stop further diagnostic data collection.
10. International users
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected here, and your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
